Founded in 1968 as the American Guild of Patient Account Management, the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management was initially formed to serve the interests of hospital patient account managers. Today, AAHAM has evolved into a national membership association that represents a broad-based constituency of healthcare professionals providing premier professional development resources and networking opportunities to healthcare professionals across the United States. AAHAM’s resources include publications, conferences and seminars, benchmarking, professional certification and networking offer numerous opportunities for increasing the skills and knowledge that are necessary to function effectively in today’s health care environment.

On July 16, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) awarded two regional TRICARE contracts for the next iteration of TRICARE, scheduled to take effect October 1, 2017. Under the new contracts, the North nad South regions will combine into a single East Region, while the West Region will remain the same. The DoD awarded the West Region to HNFS and the East Region to Humana Government Business, Inc. (Humana Military). Health Net Federal Services will coordinate efforts with Humana Military to ensure a smooth transition and minimize any impact on you and/or your TRICARE patients.
